We’re pleased to announce a key milestone today with the introduction of a brand new real-time architecture that lays the foundation for future growth and real-time device communications at scale.
The release of Agent v10 (RC) marks the first major step on this journey and allows you to start taking advantage of faster actions in the Dashboard. Going forward, you’ll be able to set the same monitoring frequencies for servers and workstations, from 5 minutes through to 120 minutes. Agent v10 also processes updates and additions to checks and automated tasks in real-time, eliminating the need to wait on the next check cycle and providing a much more responsive Dashboard.
The technologies that make real-time monitoring possible are available only within Windows Vista and Server 2008 and above. Although Microsoft has already ended support and security updates for Windows XP and Server 2003 devices, we’re committed to supporting these older operating systems and you will be able to upgrade them to the next GA Agent, v9.13.7, in a few days’ time. However, the new Agent v10 and future Agent updates will no longer be available for Windows XP and Server 2003. We urge you to upgrade those increasingly insecure systems, in step with industry-wide practices.
Below are the full release notes for today’s release. This is currently rolling out across the Dashboard territories so that it will be available to all customers by Friday, February 19th.
Please note there are a couple of known issues with Agent v10 RC related to the behaviour of workstation and DSC check failure alerts: Workstation check failures will send individual alerts instead of being batched, and Daily Safety Checks will only alert the first time the check fails, not on subsequent days if the check is still failing. In addition, some API calls and reports may not include data from the new agent, see the release notes for details. These issues will be fixed during the RC period.
We encourage you test the new RC agent and give us your feedback, so we can progress to GA as soon as possible. To take advantage, just head over to the Edit Server or Edit Workstation dialog in the Dashboard, and update the Agent to v10 RC from the dropdown.

UPDATE: Deploying new user-defined scripts for checks and automated tasks takes only a few minutes instead of two check cycles
UPDATE: Automated Tasks with an expired schedule can now be triggered with the Run Task command
UPDATE: Pending “Run Checks” and “Run Task” actions are stored up to 31 days for offline and overdue devices
UPDATE: Windows XP and Server 2003 or older devices can update to GA Agent v9.13.7 but cannot update to Agent v10 and above
UPDATE: In the Advanced Monitoring Agent UI, “Re-run Checks” is now “Sync to Dashboard” and “Upload OK” is now “Last sync OK”

KNOWN ISSUE (Agent v10 RC only): Workstation check failure alerts will send individual emails instead of being batched into a single email (i.e. like Servers do). This will be corrected in a future update.
KNOWN ISSUE (Agent v10 RC only): Daily Safety Check failure alerts will only send on the first day that the check fails, they will not resend on each subsequent day while the check remained failed. This will be corrected in a future update.
KNOWN ISSUE (Agent v10 RC only): Data for agent v10 will not be properly reflected (or won’t be visible at all if agent installed from new) in backup integrity report, performance history report. This will be corrected in a future update.
KNOWN ISSUE (Agent v10 RC only): Data for agent v10 will not be properly reflected (or won’t be visible at all if agent installed from new) in MAX RemoteManagement API calls for list_performance_history, list_drive_space_history, list_exchange_storage_history. This will be corrected in a future update.
